In a world where opportunities are often determined by one's mobility, our “Footprint” project seeks to address a critical issue which is the accessibility of prosthetic legs for amputees from the B40 group. A vital role is played by prosthetic limbs in enhancing the quality of life for amputees. It enables their independence to be regained, dreams to be pursued, and full participation in society.

Unfortunately, the high cost of prosthetic legs remains a significant barrier with limited government subsidies available. “However, not everyone can afford these prosthetic legs as they can cost up to tens of thousands of ringgits depending on their types and the technologies used” - Hashim Shuib, ex-prosthetic and orthotics technician at Hospital Kuala Lumpur via Berita Harian.

In 2012, a blogger posted an article regarding a student from UKM, Mohd Sari Adam Ahmad, who needed help raising RM20,000 to change his 10-year-old prosthetic leg. Mohd Sari Adam mentioned he could not afford the prosthetic leg as his income at the time was only RM700 per month and his father, Ahmad Abdul Hamid could not afford it either as he had to take care three of his younger children who were still in school.

Our project aimed to find sponsorship and assistance for these deserving people so they can transform their physical constraints and realize their full potential. Enhancing accessibility to prosthetic limbs is intended to improve amputees' quality of life while also contribute to a more inclusive and equitable society.

Our mission goes beyond just providing physical support, it's about creating awareness and fostering a sense of inclusion and compassion within our community. By offering prosthetic legs to those who require them and raising awareness about the challenges they face, we aim to contribute to a more equitable and compassionate society.
